does ebay have access to royal mail api?

this is a question for some experienced sellers on here who are familiar with ebay on a corporate level. Does ebay and royal mail work together to some aspect on a corporate level?, as i heard a royal mail customer service agent telling me that ebay can contact thei royal mail business department to check a status of a return in the even of some issue.
