| | | ebabe | 04-05-2019 05:44 AM | What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods I sold a can of paint on ebay. I forgot about the whole restrictions on shipping hazardous goods, on the back of the can it has the UN code ''1263'' with 3 Triangles... (Fire), and a (!) mark, and another one, cant tell what it means.
Its bottom paint for boats. Antifouling paint, to keep boats from growing barnacles and so forth on the hull.
I have informed the buyer that there will be a delay in dispatch time while I find the correct couriour. So does anyone have any advise on what the best options could be? I understand I might have to pay more for shipping. |

If you can box it up and just declare it as something else if the post office asks then you can get away with it. Loads of sellers who sell me liquid items just use Royal Mail |
| ebabe | 04-05-2019 06:23 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods Its 2.5 liters, weight about 4.5 kg would be med size parcel. |

Idk Royal Post rates. Fedex may be cheaper. |
| ebabe | 04-05-2019 06:49 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods Okay, thanks for your imput. I might just use parcelforce |

| ebabe | 04-05-2019 08:20 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods what should I say is in the parcel? Water base paint? or just keep the word paint out all together. |

If not, ex: Distilled water
Even with customs you stand a good chance they won't open it as long as docs check out. Not a 100% guarantee. |
| ebabe | 04-05-2019 08:31 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods Yeah, domestic only, within UK |

Yeah, domestic only, within UK | Domestic way safer than international.
Worst case scenario is the package gets ripped apart, the person inspecting happens to knows the regulations (average postal worker is clueless really) and charges you extra.
A lot of "Ifs". |

| ebabe | 04-07-2019 04:49 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods Im not sure saying ''water'' as the contents is a good idea. How many people ship water? For £9.00? would seem fishy to the shipping company I think, any more ideas? I was thinking of at least saying it was cans/ can of soup or somthing like that. ''can goods, food'' |
| Sunspot144 | 04-07-2019 08:05 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods There was a mistake and an employee shipped acrylic water based paint. |
| ebabe | 04-08-2019 09:38 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods Iv been thinking of either sending it via royal mail with no return address, just go in the post office and send it. Or online through parcelforce or Hermes, I asked a seller on ebay who sells these exact type of paints, and they told me they use parcelforce, dont know what they are saying is inside. But they use parcelforce. Or im I being very paranoid. Thats what life is like when your in stealth mode on ebay I guess. |

I'd just send it via whichever works out to be cheaper. Just be vague as to what is inside. |

APC overnight |
| Bradd | 04-23-2019 08:11 AM | Re: What couriers is the UK will ship hazardous goods Look up the item you are selling on ebay and ask the seller what courier they use as you sometimes have problems with certain couriers delivering to your address
