UK VCC or Prepaid card help
 

I have a 5 year old stealth acc and I was using entropay but now its gone can someone give me a simple answer on what card to get to allow me to sell on ebay, I usually pay fees with PP so it is only to allow me to sell. I know there are a lot of threads but I don't understand how people sell VCC on here too. Do tescos sell some kind of prepaid card?

I only sell max 10 items per month £200 if this helps (although my limit is 500/£16,000)

I wouldn't bother updating the card, there's no need.

Best of luck OP on finding the replacement for VCC. Not sure what Tescos would have that work for PP payment right now...perhaps others will chime in

its not really for PP, just need a card so eb will let me list.

I wouldn't have thought you need to update it. I have stealths without a card and have no problem listing and selling.

If you really want to get a VCC, either buy one from a seller on the forum, or go to a supermarket and get a visa or mastercard GIFT CARD. They also sell them in W H Smith and Wilkos. Available in £25, £50 and £100 denominations but there is an admin fee on top. A £25 card will cost £27.95 and you need register it online, using your stealth details.

I have always had this issue of eb wanting a payment method before listing as I always thought setting pp as auto payment method was not recommended or is this not an issue?

To set paypal as the automatic payment method, you need a card on paypal.

However you said this account is years old, so we assumed that paypal is already set as the payment method. In which case you can continues selling as normal without adding a new card to paypal.

I, too, assumed that you had pp as an automatic payment method as it was an older established seller account.

As just_smile rightly states, you will need a card on pp to set up automatic payments. I have some of mine set up to go out automatically and on others I make one time payments for my fees. Both ways work fine for me.

I tend to use the balance on the vcc for paying my shipping or even to buy stuff on ebay and get it sent to argos.

When you do add a pre-paid visa or mastercard to pp, they know it's pre-paid and it will show that on the pp account on the summary page.

Does this matter?

What did entropay show up as?

i think my real problem is i owe eb pennies and have nothing in pp as i have not sold for a few month.

It does not matter at the moment, but it could change, just like AMA.

I haven't used entro for about 4 or so years, but cannot remember it ever showing up as a pre-paid card. However it is easy to check cards online.

Pay your fees. They may let you sell again.

100% they will let me list, my whole issue is paying £5 fees which I can not do as I have no pp balance and can not top up entropay.

wilkos or wh smith don't seem to have these visa /mastercard gift cards anymore.


My stealth skills are a bit rusty but am I right in thinking eb or pp can not find out my details from paying by card in my name.


You can buy pre paid cards or currency cards but they want you to register you details at purchase.
