identical listing
 

Hi,
I sell my items on auction and i have a stock of 100 different items.

from one account i list around 20-30 items and it often happens that the item is not visible until the first one sold. i get this warning:

Listing may violate the Duplicate Listing policy. This listing may be identical to ....Under our duplicate listing policy, it may not be shown to buyers. When the identical listing receives a bid, this listing will be shown to buyers. If the items you want to sell are not identical, revise your listings to make the differences more obvious.

even if the first item gets a bid the duplicated is not visible. so only after the first one sells the second one is visible so it often hapens an item is visible only for 1 day instead of 5.

Also i heard ebay reduces the visibility of ALL my items if i have duplicated auctions.

is there any way to avoid this error? how does this detction trigger?

eBay puts this on place because of you are trying to sell multiples of the same item you should really be using a “buy it now” listing.

Would that not work better for you?

no, i tryed it that way and i sell way more in auctions.

as i already mentioned, these items are indeed the same but i do not understand these ebay policy.

i mean ok if you make 10 buyout listings for for the same product then it makes sense that ebay doesnt like it but this is an auction which is suppsed to sell once per day.

is there any way to fix that?

The only way to fix it is make your listings all different. Slightly different descriptions and different images

maybe consider flipping the images or adding a few generic images too
