Ebay UK VAT - under 85k & get blocked help please!!!
 

Hi, today I just got an email from Ebay saying that they have taken my listings on ebay UK down and require me to provide vat number - otherwise, I won't be able to sell on ebay UK.

I am a non uk based seller (Canadian ebay account, but I do list on ebay.uk as well) I've been selling for 2 months only (less than 5k gbp so far).

I contacted ebay customer service and they said that I have to get tax exception from HMRC or else, they cannot do anything.

This account is a stealth account. Please help. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Non-UK residents have to provide a VAT number to list on eBay UK. Only UK residents can list on eBay UK and sell up to 85k before providing a VAT number. That's why they are asking for it.

The only way round it is to create a stealth account using a UK address.

Do I need to call ebay Uk to verify address? I'm thinking about creating an ebay Uk account stealth account and use some random address.

Also, do I need to create UK paypal or can I create Canadian based paypal and link it.
