NatWest & RBS don’t allow Cash Cards anymore

Quite a bummer

From October 2nd they ceased the use of ATM / Cash Cards

(Basic cards for ATM withdrawal - Not debit or credit card)

They informed me they provide Cards now only for Current Accounts

I don’t really want to open a lot Current accounts with multiple Banks as I’ve just got the one current account with TSB at the moment

I’ve also seen they do a Basic Current Account called a “Foundation Account”

My credit ratings impeccable and I’d like it to stay that way, would you guys recommend me opening such a basic account, I only really need it so I can have access to some sort of ATM / debit card

And I don’t want to damage my Credit Rating or affect it in any way - I’ve not got it checked yet and I’ve never borrowed or used credit ever so it should be good but again I don’t feel comfortable with a lot of Current accounts

Hope this makes sense - and and all input is greatly appreciated

Thank you

Open a foundation account with them and then you can open savings accounts with them online. I have this set up and to date had no problems.

I’ve got savers accounts only with Halifax / RBS / NatWest - Instant Saver / Everyday saver

Only with TSB I’ve got a current account

I might just open a foundation account how long have you had it for and are there any limits in regards to monthly limit etc

Thank you

I have been using the NatWest basic type current accounts for a few years now. Got 4 of them. At the time they were quite relaxed and didn't care how many you had, but now it does say that you can only have one of these. There's no monthly limits on them. The only downside is the debit card with them is not contactless, not a problem for me. Money is easy to move between accounts either online or using their cashpoint. My branch staff are great and really helpful.

You can open TSB savers too. I have, and again have not had a problem with them for stealth in over 6 years.
