UK bank account name mismatch issues?

I know that currently you can get away with payments made from paypal to your bank account, even if the name doesn't match.

However, is there a chance this could cause problems later down the line?

Say you have 10,000 GBP in your account and then one day the bank manager decides to look at your transactions, and all of them are for "John Smith" while your name is "Andrew Jones"; would he not block the money?

I have been withdrawing to my Santander and barclays for over 3years with stealth accounts.

I used to work in the uk before moving to the usa. All my accounts in uk are still in good standing.

Nothing of such has ever happened.

Yes, it could be an issue but it's rare and far in-between.

I had one in 2018 and the bank held my funds just over 90 days.

To be fair, I had passed nearly N400k through 3 savings accounts in under 2.5 years so they had cause to worry.
They eventually released the funds and let me keep my accounts.
I count it as a lucky experience on my part.
One other user here wasn't s lucky.
He was investigated for Money laundering and his funds were frozen across the entire UK (if I remember correctly)
