Re: Coronavirus and DHL deliveries from China

EMS is back online in China (Whenzhou) now. Finally my items that had been in Shanghai since 23rd have appeared today.

DHL, Fedex etc are reporting 23rd February.

Be careful not to get too caught up with your circumstances and forget that these are people's lives we are talking about. You're essentially saying you hope they sent your stuff before potentially dying.

Like agent said, check with the platform you used to buy the goods and communicate with them about a possible refund.

Yes, I do hope they sent my stuff if they are dead.

You'd think exactly the same if you had a few grand in credit with your supplier.

Dont pretend that you wouldn't. Business is business.

I agree, I made sure I kept in daily contact with mine over the last couple of weeks, its been a worry I must admit considering I had credit with each one that ran to large amounts.

But the reality is, it could happen, especially in Wuhan and Wenzhou.

I think my supplier is a bit lazy these days as she wasn't palnning to start work untill Feb 19th before the virus even struck. Now it has been revised to the end of the month as DHL isn't working. SHe certainly isn't that bothered about the lack of business.
As I don't have much stock to sell, I've been teaching her English pronounciation on the microphone on an iphone app and swapping recipes! Good job it's a cold selling time of the year

I wonder why EMS is workig and not other carriers. Perhaps it's running ok locally to your supplier, but not other areas of China and it was quick because not much stuff is going out at the minute.

Most factories wearnt/arent due back till around the 17th anyway, typical CNY holidays, around a month to five weeks.

Individual 'fixers' only generally take 1-2 weeks off. But if they cant get access to factory stock, then theres no point being 'back at work'.

Factories in Wenzhou are locked up till 23rd now due to government instruction.

Not my first rodeo, but I've noticed in business people tend to grow cold to the value of human lives the more money they make. I have to keep myself in check as well. We can always make more money, but a life lost is a life gone.

Just reminding you (as well as others) to remain humane as they deal with a life altering predicament they have zero control over.

This is true (although we have a major world population problem anyway), but weeping tears isn't going to stop a virus, therefore life goes on.

I agree on virtue, but sadly virtue is just what it is. It dosen't pay the bills.

Re: Coronavirus and DHL deliveries from China

Health is wealth. I have developed a relationship with my supplier over the years, so my concern is personal as well as financial. I've given her some tips to avoid the virus, such as wearing gloves. ( You're more likely to catch flu from touching someone than had they coughed on you). Chatting about politics, family life, practising English and Chinese, she has sent me a box of stock for free when my dad died, and I've cleared some unprofitable stock for her which she ordered too much of. It really pays off on a human and financial level to be nice to your supplier.

Tinsoldier that's a depressing way to live, man. Who broke your heart? Jeez guy.

Anyways, I digress. My point was made, looking forward to getting my orders shipped as well (next week from what my suppliers said)

It's business, no more no less, I will not shed a single tear if one of my faceless online suppliers catches the virus.

😯😂

I was being sarcastic in my post , that is abit harsh 😂
