Indian named Jeff?
 

Why the hell do i have to talk to indians who call themselves "jeff" and american names when i call ebay? Apparently the selling limits department is an indian callcenter, terrible. They talk nonsense, "i can increase your limit from 10 items to 17 items sir". Why 17? what does that even mean? Why can't i talk to american reps who give me higher limits with no hassle? I hate companies outsourcing to India.

The figure they present is usually either computer generated or a fix % they've been advised to increase limits by. It's very rarely down to the individual operator you're speaking with.

Limit increases are just all done by an algorithm which can seem quite nonsensical a lot of the time

Next time OP calls an Indian call centre, the call advisor should do this to him.

I'm aware it's the system giving them a "recommended" increase, but 17 is such an odd number, usually when i call, the system tells them to increase to 100 or something on personal ebay accounts.

No it was definitely an indian sounding dude named "jeff", i could clearly hear indian women in the background laughing and talking to other ebay users. Not a big deal, i'm just not a fan of so many companies outsourcing to india, it's rarely helpful. The only help is when i need to refund an item i've bought and the indian rep does it straight away without asking anything like where the item went etc.

Don't dread at all, i certainly won't be bothering you with that attitude since you're so well versed and not prone to mistakes.

looks like time to reveal a BIG SECRET here - "how to" 🤣🤣🤣 - simply make up the x10 unreal price for a few items - seat & wait - it will eventually increase automatically - no worries..

I knew a guy called Jeffin, shortened to Jeff and he was Indian origin
