Parcel2go Scam or My Fault?
 

Not sure if this is the correct category, but wondering if anyone has had the same issue as me with Parcel2go in regards to surcharge. About 5 months ago I stopped using P2G as they hit me with two surcharges, they said I input 10x10x10 in the Dimension boxes, but I would never do that as my parcels are 31x24x16. I would have input that size and been charged the correct amount for that size. The only thing I can think is that I left the Dimension boxes empty and its default size for leaving the boxes empty is 10x10x10. Thus when they messured the box is was of med size, not small size of 10x10x10

I dont care about the surcharges now as they are so small, I just dont want to be hit again in the future, either being of my fault of somekind of scam they are pulling.

P2G are notorious for this, especially if you choose Parcelforce or HErmes.

The couriers use 'volumetric' weight, so your parcel can weigh 1g but if its in a box bigger than you declared (even by a mm) they base the weight on the whole size as volumetric.

Its ridiculous and probably criminal.

..and to be fair even if you delcare exactly correctly, they still try it on from time to time. Happened to me numerous times, I fought them all the way and had the charges removed, but to most, its a time consuming and annoying affair challenging them.

One time they hit with an 11kg volumetric weight charge for a Parcelforce delivery to Germany.

The item weighed 500grammes and was placed inside a 20cmx10cmx10cm box.

So eithers its the couriers making mistakes, or a P2G revenue stream.

And yes its Hermes I was using with P2G, over the last 5 months im been going direct through Hermes though, through their website, and not had any problems at all, so I think its P2G.

It must be Hermes I used DPD thru P2G i always put in 1 x 1 x 1 x1 cm and 1kg But my boxes are 28kg and 1 meter by 50cm x 59cm Hahahahaha not had one refused or a surcharge Even better when you drop it at the depot ..I usually put it strait on the belt

Only thing I like about P2G is the return address is not posted on the label. And that my parcels can be collected from my address. Other then that I think P2G is trash.

I've paid parcel2go hundreds in surcharges over the last year. I have switched back to Interparcel now. They NEVER issue any surcharges for mis-declaring sizes / weight.

parcel2go sting you for anything and everything. I was only lured in by them as they are £1-2 cheaper than interparcel on the items I send but now that I add up all the surcharges I would have been better off sticking with interparcel.

Thanks, ill look at interparcel, inpost is good, simple label, take to a locker 24/7 but its about £2.00 more then hermes when you go over a certain weight

hundreds in surcharges over the last year? thats criminal, how these companies get away with stuff

I've never had a DPD surcharge, its only ever been ALL of the other courier options..

I get stung a lot with UPS / Parcelforce / DPD with surcharges. But they always deliver without problems.

Hermes, Landmark and other third party couriers just lose my parcels full stop ! can not be trusted
