Delivery to primary address and not to alternative delivery address
 

Hello All

A weird thing happened today. (I have a ‘Buying Only’ account)

I setup an alternative delivery address in ebay and paypal, which has been working fine for over 3 years.

However, today I received a delivery to my Registered address setup in ebay and paypal for the first time ever.

Is this likely to have just been a glitch in the system or can a Seller actually choose which address to deliver to – e.g. Registered or alternative delivery address?

A bit of a worry as I do not want any ebay purchases sent to my registered address.

Has this happened to anyone else here?

I haven't had this glitch happen when I need things sent to different addresses - I carefully check that the right address is confirmed. Perhaps you selected something by error.

If your purchase history shows your registered address, you may have unwittingly selected that during purchase, otherwise - the seller has copied and pasted your delivery address from the dispatch email he received from eBay which is known to usually tag your first address on the account.

if seller is using Ebay or Paypal to print shipping labels,check your shipping address.
Seller protection dictates where they should ship

Thanks Tinsoldier, I hoped that was the case.

I'll need to double check when purchasing something that the correct delivery address is shown during the ebay pay now screen.

Thanks to everyone's replies.

I may have unknowingly selected the wrong delivery address - I'll be more careful next time and double check.

I'll re-check my configuration setup in Paypal / ebay just in case something got changed.

If the seller finds my registered address through purchase history and copies and pastes this into the delivery address, then I guess this is something I can't control.

when you checkout there is a list of addresses to choose from. Be very careful what one you choose. I can understand your panic about having something delivered to a stealth address.
