Anyone else facing decreased sales |
| james_112233 | 03-20-2020 06:21 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus Sales are normal for me.
I'm more concerned about buying supplies due to all the shipping delays. |
| AndStill | 03-20-2020 07:58 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus Business as usual for me as well but in the coming months things might defer depending on whether everything quiets down in a few weeks or the world experiences a complete mayhem. |
| Pathos | 03-20-2020 08:45 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus They are normal for me at the moment, however I don't think this will last. In the next week or so, I expect my sales to drop off big time. |

Anyone else facing decreased sales | My sales have tanked also, (down 34% as of now) I sell clothing, and that is NOT a priority item right now. So I guess it depends on what you are selling. I have even closed my ebay shop for now until things get back to normal. |

| LOMBOK | 03-20-2020 10:13 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus I usually get a drop off around the middle of the month but do expect things to slow down for a while in my particular categories. |

| StealthHarry | 03-20-2020 11:05 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus Thankfully I’ve always left £7k rainy day fund plus a lot extra
I’ve even listed in men’s wear category boxers but listing has not shown up at all
Quite bizarre as ladies same category is fine number 1
It’s sponsored item 2% above trending rate but still not showing
It’s quite a saturated market tbh
Any ideas chaps, need to pay supplier soon as well
Thanks |
Re: Sales are slow coronavirus We all pray that the thing gets resolved very soon, because it affects everybody one way or the other. |

Thanks | Your in almost the exact situation as me, supplier has my stock, but Im not sure if I want to tie up my money right now. Are you top rated? If so id advise free shipping on all your listings. And Sponsored. |
| agent006140 | 03-20-2020 04:34 PM | sales is almost non existant on both Ebay and Etsy.
People are still buying, they buy things they need,I bought filters for my handheld vacuum cleaner.sandals for summer,it is coming, lens wipe and of course toilet paper and grocery
No business can survive with no sales or low sales for too long, airlines, theatres, casinos, restaurants, theme parks, cruise ships.
all that fixed overhead cannot be covered by pickup/delivery.
Corporations are cutting or omitting their dividend so those who rely on dividend to subsidise their living would have to cut back,BOEING is one company which just omitted their dividend, thinking of filing bankruptcy.
UK,US,Europe all announced bail out packages in the billions, there is no free lunch,we will pay for it someday.
May be bitcoin and gold are not bad investments?
Someone once told me,raise some chickens, you raise 6,they lay eggs every day,in 2 weeks, you will have a few dozen eggs, sell some and keep some for yourself.
We used to have a local store which sells eggs with double, triple, quad yolks, now Kroger comes along and they are toast .
We also have some muslims in our Subdivision, they may be raising goats in their backyard, like the MExicans, they raise rabbits.
some folks made a killing selling masks.
may be look into pasta,in my neighborhood supermarket,99% pasta, noodles are gone.
light and easy and cheap to ship.
I did not look into ramien noodles, easy to prepare.
may be life insurance policy.
yes,working from home,you need PC,PRINTER,LAPTOP ,computer paper,inkcartridge.
toilet paper too
toothpaste,canned and dried goods.
think SPAM ,they are all sold out at Kroger
there is plenty of SPAM on Ebay, |

It’s a risk honestly, I only purchased so much to keep myself busy but the problem is there not selling  😂
I know I won’t make loss on them as they’ll fly come xmas but that’s a darn long time away now |
| StealthHarry | 03-20-2020 05:19 PM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus I think for the next 2 weeks probably more (3-6 months) depending on the situation of this all, people will just be buying essentials and not paying any attention to unnecessary things clothing etc etc
Just gonna have to ride the wave, wish you all good health and best of luck - I’m surprised really 2020 has been a sh*t storm with eBay announcing MP, Banks doing name checking and now the coronavirus
I did have a personal best sale for jan feb early March period up until China stock stopped coming
I pray we all make it out alive and when that happens not wishing we were dead instead
Someone said “all our products are made in China, even our caskets gonna have a made in China mark” |

| bonedaddy101 | 03-20-2020 09:41 PM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus a little slow but pretty much the same as this time last year |
| bhuzz | 03-21-2020 04:55 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus I just trying to clear stock just above cost price. Struggling to clear. Don't see the point having it right now. Hardly noone it buying what I sell. . Worse every day. Just want it gone so I only need to post once. Sunday will be my last selling day till things get better. |
Re: Sales are slow coronavirus Best of luck all - survival of the fittest and most needed at this time....but faith that it will get better :) |

Re: Sales are slow coronavirus Normal for me at the moment.
If sales start to tank then maybe look at items that will get popular in the coming weeks and months.
Lawnmowers
Barbeques
Gardening equipment
Power tools
Books
etc etc |

I want to be escorted to the crematorium in a military convoy like the good old folks in Italy. |
| ebabe | 03-22-2020 08:13 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus My sales this weekend were up, I dropped my prices to counter the lack of demand. As far as in-demand items, I think there are many options to think about, if anyone can get a bunch of water purification tablets, this is something that I think is now in demand, I bought 100 tabs online the other day for £9.00 including shipping. To make any money though you would need to source 100,000+s of them |
| Dalton | 03-22-2020 08:25 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus All people are scared due to coronavirus attack. It will increase when we will overcome this situation. |
| LOMBOK | 03-23-2020 03:48 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus With supermarkets being stripped of food and toilet roll we may be moving back to a WW2 situation with growing your own veg. The seed sellers look to be doing quite well! And as for bidets?
Seriously though, people do buy more garden related and diy product this time of year and with them having to maybe stay at home much more these areas should increase.
Just a thought. |

Good luck to you too in these crazy times. | Thankfully besides my gym being closed and nonessential businesses being closed, my work goes on along with my biz. Sadly stocks and holdings are down but I don't depend on them so much so I'll let them sit and wait. |

Usually, I leave these things too late and end up regretting it.
Some great no weight workout routines are being added to Youtube.
Have a gander if you haven't already.
I don't hold a great deal in stocks but I do have some.
This doesn't bother me at all. I don't plan on cashing out for decades and they will bounce back like they always do. |

| CaptainComedown | 03-26-2020 04:22 AM | Re: Sales are slow coronavirus Glad to see I'm not the only one having training withdrawals! I usually lift weights at 7am and then in the evenings I train at an MMA club doing boxing, ju-jitsu, wrestling, muay thai, Judo etc so I'm finding myself with a huge amount of free time. I ordered some commercial gym equipment for the house, but I mostly miss sparring, as nothing gets rid of ebay related stress more effectively than a mate punching you in the face lol sometimes after speaking to ebay on the phone I have to drive to the nearest punchbag!
On a more relevant note, I'm surprised to see so many people seeing a drop in sales, as my sales have actually gone up slightly (definitely non essential items) so I just presumed everyone is sitting at home drinking wine and buying stuff lol |

As for your sales...that's awesome that it's gone up :thumb: |
Re: Sales are slow coronavirus honestly i am not touching anything in terms of healthcare and food items
I did had opportunity of Mask, vitamin c iron etc in millions THE SOURCE COUNTRY I WORK WITH HAD them dirt cheap but i turned it down because i felt like this is not good and now i am really glad that i did people are selling these mask with huge profit people who got money are buying in bulk which is creating panic in market.
We all made money all these years with help of this forum morally or unmorally
but i just think i need to give a break in such situation
this is just me i am not judging anyone just a personal point of view

But I guess that as most responsible sellers put their accounts into holiday mode then those who continue to sell and ignore social distancing requests will have better chance of making sales. | Well thats certainly what I've been doing, just sitting here waiting on my new VR setup to arrive :bounce: and none of my competitors seem to have stopped selling, so I don't think that is why my sales have increased so much lately, although what you're saying does make sense.
I've had to close my car dealership, which comprises of two separate sites that will continue to charge me rent, so I won't be giving up my ebay money. Plus it gives me something to do all day.
And considering I live in a very rural area in Northern Ireland (can see cows from every window), and the local post office operates through a glass barrier, I don't think I'm putting the country at risk. I pre-print my labels, and then just leave the stack of parcels in front of the hatch and leave. Plus the post office has a free hand sanitizer dispenser and I always drink some straight from the nozzle. |
