DHL Shipping From China to UK during UK corona virus lockdown
 

Hi all,

I have sadly lost my job due to the corona virus situation and unfortunately I do not qualify for the Government's Job Retainment Scheme meaning I currently have virtually zero income.

I am therefore intending to recommence my eBay selling and would like to order some stock from China (non VERO items).

Could I please ask whether DHL are still shipping from China to the UK whilst the UK is in lockdown? If so, are there big delays at the moment - or is it pretty much the same as it was previously.

The DHL website seems to imply that everything is as it usually is but before I placed my orders I was just wondering if any of you helpful dudes could kindly advise on how long shipping is likely to take at the moment please.

I am in USA,but before you place order,have you checked to see if the items you want to order from China are already available in the UK wholesale district?
it may come out the same $$ but save you some trouble and customs $$

Feel M8 but keep your head up and crack on as to DHL they are shipping from China still however there are delays so don’t expect to get your shipment within 3 days you may have to wait a week or even longer for it to arrive. However stating that I’ve found DHL to be the fastest at this time compared to UPS and TNT.

Had a DHL order from China come through last week (not VERO or knock-off stuff) to Canada - came quickly without issues

There's definitely delays. I ordered stock 2 weeks ago from China, and it's still waiting for a flight to go on from HK to the UK. Once it's on the flight, it's usually very quick, just one or days, except 1 or 2% gets stopped for a random custom's check.

DHL To Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg from china works as always. Pretty sure it works the same in the UK

It's delays via DHL, My supplier uses an independent courier from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, where it's DHL who takes over from there. It usually takes 1-5 days, but it's been 10 days and still hasn't reached HK DHL

DHL are waiting for 10-15 days before they put it on their system. They will NOT take liquids at all. Customs are checking everything, so vero products WILL be held and possibly sent back to seller.
Contact the seller before ordering and they will be able to advise you. It may be just as quick to get multiple smaller orders (depending on the size of the item) that can be sent via epacket or chinapost as these are rarely held and will arrive in the same time as the boxes.

DHL from CH -> UK -> EU works like always, maybe little delay

As an update I ordered 2 30 kg parcels via DHL 3 weeks ago and one has arrived and another is still in China waiting for a flight, as are another 2 parcels I ordered last week. My supplier is saying many flights are booked for sending PPE to Europe. Also the price of DHl has shot up. It's a shameas people are still buying the clothing I sell.

Customs have not opened any of my boxes, I'm not gloating or anything as they have done before. If they were checking everything carefully there would be massive delays. Yes it takes a long time 2-3 weeks to actually get the boxes registered onto DHL, but mine whizzed through as soon as they got a flight to the UK

The costs are increasing every hour. Shipping costs are ridiculous right now

Shipping is astronomically high now.
We've had to pay just over $600 for DHL shipping that we had always gotten for free over the last six years.

Same here my profit margin can't cover 600$ per box. My supplier is just waiting for prices to go back down. I'm happy to wait though if it's indeed spaces on flights are covered for PPE to the UK and other countries. I have got her to send some none seasonal stock by sea, which she says is around the normal price.
