if you reply to an email from them they see your ip, unless using gmail. Clicking on emails should not be a problem, but there are threads regarding flash objects in emails that can record your data, so best to use gmail with do not display images option.(again there have been glitches with gmail for some users, although not in UK, if you want to be super-safe, turn flash off all together by uninstalling adobe on your firefox browser.)

Op is taking about an email account, if you get an ebay email that goes through to your
email, if it ok to answer via gmail regardless of ip, however, as mentioned before, glitches in this have been known, so to be on total safe side you could make sure you dont answer emails on same ip you have been on another account with (cant expect people with alot of account to stick to this advise though, )

if you open any ebay email sent to your email address,as soon as you open the email ,you are tracked ,so if you are logged into your ebay account ,and you are checking email of another account ,then your cookies would get your linked because in email ,ebay sends cookie to your pc with the help of web beacon.

If you are checking email of same ebay account to which you are logged in at that moment ,then dont have to worry about anything. However ,while on an ebay site or in an opened-up ebay email ,your computer activity may be monitored forexample ,what sites you are opening ,anything related to your web browser.

However ebay cannot get into the personal data stored on your pc like on your hard drive. As this is illegal and not allowed by the law.If ebay does that ,and someone like a I.T person detects it ,he can literally sue Ebay.

if logged in to ebay at the time, ebay can track that you are on a gmail account, but they dont know WHICH particular one....

if you open an email from ebay, keep picture displays turned off and you should be ok, use gmail as the ip is not in header. Other things are use betterprivacy add on under firefox to stop LSO, clear cookies and turning flash off/uninstalling it is also an option for some.
