Anxiety over what will happen with managed payments.
 

Hi all,
I had old paypal & ebay accounts closed during the drop shipping boom.
Around 18 months ago I started a new ebay account in a completely ficticious name but using my legitimate bricks and mortar address (different to banned home address) linked it to a paypal account in a close family members name.

Started selling totally legit 'low risk' items and built it into quite a nice business and my main income. Everything is good, I have high limits on the ebay account.

I'm stressing over what might happen when managed payments become 'enforced'. ebay will want proof of name and address etc which I obviously don't have. I was just wondering what I should do to prepare for this?

I need to do whatever it takes to save this business, I even considered changing my name by deed poll to the name on the account lol

Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks

It would be much easier to change the name on the ebay account, rather than deed poll. :)

In truth no one knows how it will work exactly, not for the UK.

Thanks just_smile, I'll have to keep an eye on developments. Out of curiosity what would happen if I bought a business, a town centre shop with an ebay account attached? Would they let the new owner take over the account? Would seem a bit harsh to make the new owner start again with account limitations etc

Don't stress about it. We are ALL on the same boat. Ebay is also my primary income especially now that my other business has completely shut down due to the covid-19 lockdown.

i wouldnt worry about it, there are so many people with a vested interest in working out how to solve this someone will come up with a solution and sell it, if its the same system etsy uses it is laughably easy to get around.

i guaruntee there are many stealthers out there making 100k+ a year that are not going to take no for an answer, someone will work it out.

Hope is a secular prayer and prayer isn't a stealth tool.
Time to learn SEO and Wordpress in case things go south with eBay.

If all goes wrong we can try and get a job in the Ebay call centre or the Amazon warehouse ;)

they use adyen apparently, which is what everyone is saying ebay is going to use for managed payments. im sure theres plenty of people selling etsy accounts on here somewhere its so easy so im quite suprised everyone is worried about it, maybe ebay are going to do extra checks no one knows yet i guess!

Who on here can provide a comprehensive guide for etsy stealth? Might need it for ebay as well.
