eBay - Same Name but everything else different

Just a thought...

Would eBay / PP link accounts solely through having the same name, but with everything else different?

My thought is that if, for example, my name is John Smith, there may be thousands of us. If my account gets banned surely eBay won't take down the account of every John Smith out there!?

That's correct. Although It might start to be a problem keeping many "John Smiths" stealth accounts distinct enough to escape being link. But if you can pull it off, carry on.
At least you'd never have trouble with the banks.
