Paypal hacked
 

Hi

I had no money in my paypal and the bank account it was linked to was also empty but recently had £300 taken from it so its in the -£300 and paypal are now hassling me for the money, I found out a person purchased some ear phones from a sainsbury argos store 200 miles away.

Why was this transaction allowed if I had zero funds? and most importantly does anyone know how this can be rectified?

I have rang the bank and blocked paypal to stop them taking any money that enters that account

Did you attach a credit card?

if you had a paypal with 0 balanace and a debit card with 0 balance, no purchase should go through.

I think the buyer has used your PayPal credit to buy the stuff , have you applied for PayPal credit yourself ? Anyway you should place a dispute for unauthorized transaction by PayPal because if the PayPal credit is used and you dont pay it will influence your credit history .

imho, this forum is wasted now.. by more NEW noobs PP employees, from Ireland as example.. they got no clues whatsoever..

are you sure it is not chargeback or dispute from your buyer?
did you sell something worth 300 at one time?

No idea, I’m pretty savvy with PayPal and have been for years, never came across this

No it’s neither! The acc was empty as was the bank it was linked to, confused as to who paid for it, guess PayPal did with their own money
