Could it cause issues on ebay when I change my business name and address?
 

Hi,

I have a legal business on ebay. 1 month ago I made the change on ebay from private to business seller.

I setup a company and I now realize I would be better off being a partnership. I need to change the address and delete the business name on my ebay account. Do you think thats an issue with ebay doing this just one month after submitting the last details?

If its really bad I could might try to leave the business name and change only the address. Would that be better?

Ebay could not care less whether personal or business,and name and address.
do it before you sign up for MP,or asked to sign up

How old is the account in general ? have they ever requested documents in the past ? any policy violations ? negative feedback ? are you a top rated seller ?

You can get away with more if the account is in order generally speaking. I have changed owner details many times to attach the account to a new paypal so you can do it. But it may flag a review.

The account is 13 years old, I am now a top rated seller but I took off all my products 2 days ago as I started to sell too much and I dont want to pay VAT.

No negative feedback or policy violations but I was a day late to submit my business information when they forced me to change over to a business account.

The last 12 month I have changed my address twice, never the name.

What do you think?

So ebay would request a proof of business document sometimes? Never had that but good to know...

Sounds good to me. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you are about to hit the VAT threshold you are doing well. Ebays profiting. They have already contacted you so they know your account is in order (as they asked you to change to a business account). They know you will be making changes to your business so do what you need to do.

Good stuff. Thank you for your help. Last question, I have to create a business paypal to match this account. Although my husband is my business partner i cannot give paypal his name as his account was suspended 6 month back, we escalated too much. Can I just create a soletrader paypal account? I guess UK and Ireland are the same? What proof does paypal want for a soletrader paypal account without a business name?
