"your withdrawal is delayed" message on UK paypal
 

Hey folks, hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe! So I have just tried withdrawing from one of my stealth paypal's to my bank account and at the end of the withdrawal it showed me a message saying that my transfer has been delayed for 24hours due to security reasons.

It is the first withdrawal I have made from this account. The account is about 2 or 3 months old and has had no problems so far, and I have only been selling cheap items on it.

I'm hoping this is just a standard review, and that I'm not about to lose the money, but I thought I'd ask in here and see what experiences others have had with this message? I have been withdrawing from dozens of accounts in the past year, sometimes multiple times per day, and have never encountered this issue before.

Should I be concerned or should it be ok?

I dont think this is anything to worry about.

I have had that message numerous times before and the funds have always arrived in my bank account. It just takes a bit longer...

Does anybody disagree with me on this?

Don't worry just yet - just have to wait and see what happens - and it's the weekend, not much you can do with delays

The new rule regarding mismatched names came into effect a few weeks back in the UK but nobody seems to be having a issue a far as ive seen,Hopefully this is just a delay and nothing to do with that but as its a first withdrawal and not a regular payment that they have seen before i was wondering if its a possibility.

Keep us informed if it went through ok please.

Thats reassuring to hear, I am hoping its just Paypal being useless as usual, and nothing more sinister. Nothing worse than having to wait though!

That occurred to me also, although I'm using a Uaccount extra account, which isn't really a proper bank (they didn't even ID me when I created my account) so I was hoping that it would be safer than using a real bank which would flag up the name mismatch

Ah do you think it will be Monday before anything happens then? I checked the accounts this morning and it still shows as "pending" on the paypal activity summary, but it says to expect the funds on the 16th, which is today, so I was hoping they would stick to the 24hour timescale. Especially considering they chose the timeframe!

Have you Googled 'Uaccount' and 'PayPal' , or even used the search on this site?...

It's not particularly heart warming. I opted not to use my Uaccounts account because of what they doing to both Stealthers and normal people who recieved funds.

It could just be a blip, it happens, but sadly there is nothing you can do right now till their time frame expires.

It's quite normal to get 24, 28 and 72 hour holds on acoounts that are relatively new, even after making previous withdrawals. The money is usually released after that time has passed. Wait it out and update us please.

yeah I have seen the problems with Uaccount, I just use them because it gives me 20 free extra accounts, and I mostly use them to start accounts off, and then eventually attach a real bank account when it is stable. I also don't keep any money in my Uaccount, I transfer from paypal to Uaccount and then move the money straight into my savings account. That way if they suddenly close my account it will only be a minimal loss

Well I have logged in this morning and the money has been successfully transferred to my account!

I guess I was just panicking a bit because I have never encountered that message before (on previous accounts I have moved the full 2.3k EU limit in a single first transaction without getting that message) so I thought I was about to get limited or perhaps the bank would be rejected for mismatched names.

You may well get this on the next few withdrawals and then back to instant. Just the way it goes!
