Paypal mismatched names solution?
Hi,
I just wanted to share my recent experience, to see if it was of any help to anyone out there using Stealth methods.
My Paypal account is not in my name (it is in the name Peter xxxxer) and it is a Business Paypal account with the Business name 'xxxxer's Collectables'
Over the past couple of years, I withdrew a lot of money (around £90k) from this Paypal account to my personal Cashplus account.
Earlier this year, Cashplus got in touch to query the amount of money passed to the account and the nature of the transactions.
As part of the questioning, I was asked if I knew about the Paypal transactions from 'xxxxer's Collectables.'
The interesting thing about the above is that Paypal were passing Cashplus the Paypal Business name ('xxxxer's Collectables) and not the Paypal account holder name (Peter xxxxer).
Since then, Cashplus has blocked/closed the account and transferred any balance to my other account (lol).
However, as a result of the above, I have logged onto the Paypal Business account and changed the Paypal Business name to my own.
Let's say my full name is David Jones, I have renamed the Paypal Business name to D Jones. The new Business name did not show right away but a couple of week later, this Paypal account is now showing D Jones instead of xxxxer's Collectables. Hopefully, this will solve any name mismatches when I withdraw from this Paypal account to other bank accounts, as deposits into the bank should just show as 'D Jones'
The above will obviously only work if you have a Paypal Business (not personal) account, which I guess you should have anyway if you are doing decent turnover. Also, I would guess that the Paypal account would need to be fairly established, so no good for those that burn through accounts every month!
Please let me know what you think about the above and also if there are any potential hitches with this plan! I just wanted to put it out there and see if it was a good idea or see if anyone had tried anything similar.
Kind regards,
Tuffguy
