Aged stealth account - Told to call with a security code
Hi guys I purchased a stealth account on here and let it sit for a year to age.
I tried to make 1 listing and it said I must verify by phone (no email option) this was impossible as that phone number doesn't exist anymore. I updated the phone number but when I list it says call 0800-358-6552 and mention security code XXX. Eventually after many cut offs and endless loops I spoke to an agent that said I must confirm the account by phone and for security they can only use the old number (that doesn't exist anymore) as that is the only number that's trusted. They said if I have no access to that number anymore I must make a new ebay account.
This is obviously very annoying as I let the account age for a whole year and now cannot use it.
Any ideas how to get around it? I cannot verify by email or use my new phone number they insist on sending a old number or forcing me to create a new account.
I thought maybe I could try and build up cookies by bidding and even purchasing 99p items in the hope that the security flag goes away. Any suggestions or anyone ever had anything similar?
Please note I am still authorised to sell and my account is otherwise still in good standing I simply cannot meet their verification requirements as I cannot verify using the previous number.
Kind Regards

Re: Aged stealth account - Told to call with a security code
A "true" aged account is one with sales history. If you just created it and let it sit, it's not much different from an account that was created today and tried to sell.
Your best bet is to just create another eBay account using all the same details and go from there

It did have 1 sale I wanted it to sit so that the 3 month new seller restrictions were removed. I'd much prefer to get this account back if possible than buy a new one.

Try again and hope for a better agent - that's one idea
