2500 EUR Limit changed in UK?
 

It seems the behaviour of paypal UK has changed recently. You used to need to verify your account after *receiving* 2500 euro, but recently I've had some accounts which received more than this with no problems -- however, I had to verify before I was allowed to *send*, as paypal said you've reached your sending limit.

Can someone verify if my understanding is correct -- has the 2500 receiving limit been changed to a 2500 sending limit?

(Does this have something to do with the UK leaving the EU?)

I noticed this as well with a friends account. No clue what's going on

The same. Nothing notifications about limits running new friend accs.

Sending limit always been there until you confirm a bank account. It’s true at the moment that the hard €2500 limit isn’t being fully enforced but naturally your account could hit a wall at any point.

You also need to confirm your personal details, in addition to your bank account/card. That has always been there. What seems to have changed is that money received doesn't seem to contribute toward the 2500 limit anymore.

I did, however, get a message (when trying to send money), that I hit the sending limit and need to verify my personal details in order to lift the limit.

I have seen both cases recently. Seems that they apply this randomly?

I noticed this aswell. on some accounts i get the 2.5k limitation after 200 gbp and on some accounts not even after 10k. very random.

What is the soft limit please? I have received close to £1000 in one account and i dont want to hit the trigger. thank you.

Nobody knows anymore. They seem to have changed it. My last guy got triggered after receiving 3.5K

Assume e2500 until observations above are written in stone.

One of mine has exceeded 6k and still hasn't been asked for anything

It has always amused me that paypal was 2500 and amazon was 25000. I even asked why and they couldn't even answer!

I have one account that has not been asked for anything yet and it has received close to 5000. The others are less than 2500.

I work on the assumption they can hit you anytime and only leave enough to cover fees and returns. The rest is out and away from their thieving little mitts. They can't pull anything out from the savers attached.

Over 11 months, it's one of my backups should my mains go down. But the mains have been going strong *touch wood*

Mines has been requested the Standard EU limit at £1900 - soft warning if I carry on trading it’ll be limited until docs provided

Thought I’d mention - I hoped to get away Scot free as well from reading this post earlier in the year but they have requested it from one of my new accounts

I’ve done over £13k on one account since January this year and still no hard limitation. I have several other accounts well over the usual €2500 limit as well, still going strong.
