Buyer feedback ridiculous

New account sold perfume - purchased for £3.50

Sold for 1p +£ 3.95 postage

So I’m in pure loss just doing it to build account

Buyer left negative feedback

“ my own fault cheap and nasty”

He mentioned it’s he’s own fault

Tried contacting him telling him I’ll refund the £4 just revise feedback

Surely this is unfair, can I get this removed

Thank you

Only one way to know.... email ebay and maybe a rep will feel it is removable.

I dont see that feedback breaking any policy. Their own fault meaning... they should not have bough a cheap item.

You can argue it is buyers remorse. It will take the right rep for that on a newer account.

Since they started seller hub its very very difficult to remove feedback

Yh it’s become very hard to remove feedback - earlier in March they had a covid system whereby instead of chatting via live chat they direct you to a “form” to fill and they decide wether it’s removable or not.

The total sale price was £4 to the buyer

Postage I paid was £3.95, item cost £3.50.

After 3 weeks he left that negative

Feel like messaging him and telling him your windows going to get bricked but that won’t help this situation

Might go down live chat route - I know for “f#ke” you can get it removed but I don’t know what grounds I can use to make eBay remove this

While you work to get it removed, there are several steps you can take to groom a new account safely:

A. I do not sell anything that can be easily subject to interpretation.
Parfumes are an excellent example of what not to sell on a new account. The strength of the scents vary from batch to batch and buyers may conclude you're selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ if there's a slight difference.

B. I don't have to lose money grooming an account. If the dimensions of the item surpass that of a large letter, I'd forget it.

C. I avoid 'hot' categories. Your chances of getting suspended or attracting fraud or bad feedback are high. Something as benign as 'stationery' would be an excellent place to start. It would rarely cause a suspension to poor feedback. You can source it for cheap, so you don't have to make a loss on eBay.

Thanks you great advice Pandora’s Box

This was honestly a unbranded generic perfume no brand reference to anything

Perfume in genera is high risk to ebay. It is the number three area world governments are looking for health and safety.
#1 being supplements/pills
#2 cosmetics
#3 perfumes

I have got ebay to remove about 7 neg feedbacks. You need to somehow exploit the statement ''my own fault'' Thats the key. Also did the buyer message you asking for a refund outside of ebay policy? All depends on many things.

Nice removal of the neg feedbacks - keep in mind that the OP is selling in health high risk category as discussed above....always a risk for backfiring though

Re: Buyer feedback ridiculous

I agree, since ebay ask u to fill that thing on seller hub to get the feedback removed, it is so difficult to have the feedback removed, and buyers are being sh***

I am fedup with the buyers, I have sold many and have great feedback then one rubbish buyer comes in and destroy the feedback and then no sale.

Best and key thing is being patience, because you have only one way of feedback removal is through buyer, keep sending the polite request to buyer and one day once he/she is calmed down will agree to remove,

There is big risk going through ebay, because chatting or calling ebay is like waking up the lion, once waken then punish you of waking him up, they scrutinise the account well, check what you selling and buying, read you messages, everything, and any small mistakes will punish you hard, so I just avoid contacting ebay, they are a*******.

There are many companies who help you to build up feedback and remove bad feedback but very costly. So key is slowly and patiently.

Hope it helps many sellers.
