Incompetent supplier from China and importing issues

My supplier from China of 14 years, has become increasingly incompetent. I'm considering switching to other suppliers, however I want to give her one last chance.

Basically, she has not sent anything out since March. I fully understand the three months afterwards DHL were paralysed, and I understand shipping costs are higher, but she now will not send anything out due to 'rioting in HK' and 'delays caused by everything being seriously checked by HK customs'

Has everyone else been getting these kind of issues importing from China?

apparently this is not true because plenty of China sellers are selling on ebay exporting from China

I've had no issues exporting my stuff from China using all sorts of shipping options. Some were a tad slower a few months ago but things are pretty much back to normal right now for me

Costs of airmail is really high and getting large orders onto planes takes some finesse but there really has not been any reason at all since march to not ship anything.

USA has a west coast port issue causing all sorts of delays for surface shipping, but that has not been an Asian issue, but a local government issue.

It sounds like your third party seller needs to be replaced. It seems that they no longer can get the goods or at least not an acceptable price.

I have found the DHL shipments are taking a few days longer than normal but otherwise no issues.

Business and sentiments, oil and water...
I would have moved on before now.

Thanks for the heads up everyone

It isn't entirely based on sentiment. Her stock is slightly cheaper than my UK suppliers and they're none vero brands that have few rivals, unlike the UK supplier's stock which is saturated on ebay and amazon

Agreed on that - seems quite likely
