PP FnF Scam : Solutions Plz

I was looking an item but could not find seller for that, after great search found someone who supply, but seller insisted to be paid via bitcoin, I believed paying via bitcoin is not safe as there is no protection in case seller does not deliver,

So requested seller That I will pay via PP, Then seller insisted to be paid PP (Friends n Family), I knew FnF is not safe either, I was about to place bit big order then just to test the seller I agreed with seller to place small order first, I was like 80% doubting on seller not being honest, even then I tried my luck with very small order first, Now paid with FnF and this seller seems run away.

I know PP does not protect FnF, But Are there other ways going about it, I paid via PP FnF and money went out from my credit card attached to PP.

If I can recover my small mount (every penny count) fair enough, if not just a learning curve.

Please help/share your experience

One more Question: Are there other ways of payment which are as secure as Paypal (Paying for goods/service)

1) File chargeback on cc issuer
2) I don't know but will try to do more research as some member said above to use brain with answering yes.

That sucks

But you forfeited your funds the moment you paid using friends and family. An easy trap to fall into.

Take it as a learning curve and move on quickly.

You can try asking paypal for help. It's not unheard of them for to reverse F&F payments even though they say it's not something they do. I've seen posts on here by people who had F&F payments reversed.

Next option would be chargeback but then you'd lose your Paypal.

I always go for the cheapest option when sending money instead of the safest option, so I use wire's where there's zero protection. You could look into escrow services if it's something your supplier would be willing to do (doubt it since the guy already scammed you once)

If you pay with a credit card then open a chargeback.

You will get the funds back within a few weeks usually

But you'll lose your Paypal. You'll have to weigh your options carefully here...

I have never had a PayPal closed due to one CC dispute being opened

i think if you called up and claim it was a scam with evidence they can open a case on your behalf

Charging back via CC may not always work. But if your bank still charges it, PayPal loses the money on it and they might close your PayPal account
