Royal Mail disruption

Has anyone been having disruption using RM recently?

I sent 40 parcels on Feb 9th recorded delivery and 14 are still in transit.

I'm a bit worried as the resulting cold winter of 2010 toasted my ebay account from delayed parcels and negatives.

That's quite a long time for customers to wait for delivery even if items were 2nd class.

If you scanned it at the post office, you have no problems as this won't count against you - so you may upload tracking to protect yourself from livid customers.

However, if you sent it using a business account, don't update any tracking on eBay unless for items that delivered on time. If you do, eBay bots will rub their pesky little evil palms in glee and punish your account for the next cycle.

What's likely is that RM queued your bag at the distribution centre for a while and then posties have a huge backlog at the local delivery centres. You'd just have to wait until they clear that up.

The methods above have served us well, and we never lost TRS for late delivery even when plagued with terrible weather.

Royal Mail lost 1 in 20 parcels for me in jan-feb.
the trouble is that they might deliver the item after 10 days and you have to refund on eBay meanwhile, and RM won't compensate you.

Sent a £900 phone to Poland in the first week of Jan and it's still stuck in a container due to brexit / covid according to Parcelforce.

I'm stressed to say the least.

It's the current situation in the world that is causing the delays.

Further to this, 40 parcels I sent out on 9th February, last week 14 hadnt arrived, and today it's around 5. I've been doing pre paid labels for about 5 years with no problems. I thought it was due to the Beast from The East, however, it turns out some jobsworth from Royal Mail, has pulled my mailing bag, and challenged postage on 14/50. He/She challenged whether they were large letters or parcels (which is 61p difference). Delaying the parcels by a couple of weeks in the process and charging my customers £3.50. No way were they incorrectly charged, I've sold around 10,000 parcels previously, have scales and a large letter sorter, and only had 3 or 4 insufficent postages the whole time
