How many % do you have to put on promo listings to rank at the top ?
 

So never had the need to use promoted listings, however feels as though competition is getting stiff,
Any ideas on how many percent I need to put on Promo ads to rank at the top?

Try 1% and keep an eye on your impressions. Increase the figure over time until you see the results you want (if any). You can't trust ebay's figures because they have all the incentive to lie in order to make more money. Theres a lot of good videos on YouTube

better start selling with 0 profit and then reach to top as paying promotion take too much money as ebay internal manipulate the promotion thing you can goto top if Your item (Lower in price , have higher add value , have more sale ) so on the other words you can say its still lowest 1st of top promotions

The percentage differs depending on the products. There is no right or wrong answers. An item that has huge margins can be promoted with large fees if promoting it is needed to help it sell. Lower profit items must use a smaller percentage as fees will take all profits away and leave you with a lot of work and no money to show for your effort.

It all depends. I don't use it. My items are number one in my category without it.
