Ireland seller sells to UK customers ebay - do I need to register for VAT in the UK?
 

Hi guys, ladies

Does any of you know if I am a seller based in Ireland do I need to register for a VAT number in the UK?

My accountant told me only EU countries will be covered by the One Stop Shop programme from the EU. But he also believes I might dont need to register for VAT since on ebay I do pay VAT collected by ebay for items up to 135 pounds and after that amount the person who receives the item via post pays to the courier company VAT.

I would appreciate your feedback.

Your OSS VAT ID will work only for EU countries.
For all other countries like Norway, UK, Australia ..etc .. eB will automatically ad and collect all taxes from buyers including VAT using their own OSS number.

When I sell to UK there is always a code added that I always make sure is printed on shipping label so that package goes directly to buyer without being stuck in custom. Same thing apply to other countries from outside EU.
