Withdrew too much from PayPal into Santander. now online banking is blocked
 

I Recently joined Santander about 10 days ago and after joining i created two EveryDay Saver accounts with them. I wated about 3 days and connected 3 bank accounts to 3 seperate PayPal accounts and all 3 have done successful withdrawals from PayPal to each Santander account.... HOWEVER;

1st PayPal account I withdrew £3,000 in the same day
2nd PayPal account I withdrew £250
3rd PayPal account I withdrew £250.

And I have been withdrawing about £500 a day for the last 3 days...
but today Santander have blocked my online banking and i need to call them on Monday.

I feel i withdrew too much too fast and now i have created a problem with my bank and obviously it looks suspicious. So I just want peoples thoughts on this? thanks

The issue is UK banks see that PayPal sent the payments to mismatched names

Now you did this 3 times in rapid succession to 3 different saver account it looks like a 1st party payment fraud so they have to do their due diligences and they will likely ask you why the payments are on different names

Also the bank may be feeling that it's either payment fraud or you're doing business on personal account...be ready with explanation and possible change to business account and fees acceptance...

show some personal activity on your bank accounts , bank don't like people receiving money in large amounts shortly after opening and then only withdrawing without paying bills etc. , it may look to them that you are some kind of fraudster or middlesman cashing out stolen funds

You opened up brand new accounts then receive a bunch of payments in different names, including a big payment.

Other banks will do the same to you, it happened to someone I know with Halifax. To get your money you will likely need to send the bank documents

I appreciate all the replies! I have been able to use ATM's to withdraw cash. and now I just tried to log into online banking and its working normal :)
didn't need to contact Santander in the end. I got lucky

I think its game over for me now using Stealth Accounts. My last few accounts forced into MP on July 2nd. Its devistating..
What a year I had though, This forum and stealth has been a blessing.
