Ebays new Pay per click model

Hi guys,

So ebay will be implementing there new PPC model end of the month which is similar to Google and Amz, what do you guys think will it help achieve more sales to hit the top spot on first page?

Cheers

Re: Ebays new Pay per click model

It's probably going to cause eBay to make more profits and their sellers to make less.

Re: Ebays new Pay per click model

how does it work?
do you pay everytime someone clicks on your item or if someone clicks and eventually buy?

per click. Doesn't matter if they buy or not.

EDIT: here's the update :

How generous. We can even use this feature with regular promoted listings and pay eBay 50% of the sale price in fees! Awesome, eBay! :typing:

Re: Ebays new Pay per click model

This would not work well on Ebay, too many sellers selling identical and similar items, there is always someone willing to sell for less than your asking price.
I have tried that on other sites long ago with Google and Yahoo, waste of money.
Etsy has something similar but you dont pay until they buy from you within X number of days, the fee is high.

Re: Ebays new Pay per click model

I listed an item a few days ago,it has 90 views and 6 watchers but no buyer.
I would be broke if I sign up for pay per click

Re: Ebays new Pay per click model

lol, eBay doesn't care if you go broke. We sellers are expendable.

Wrong, if Ebay had a billion more sellers selling billions of items more than now they would be richer.

Not wrong. What you describe isn't the reality so eBay is doing everything they can to milk more profits from the sellers they already have. You're talking about a hypothetical fairytale and I'm talking about what is really happening on eBay. :nono:

Waste of money? Tell that to the million/billion dollar companies running ads on Google and others... You just have no clue HOW to do it.

We all know you don't really know what you're doing, so... LOWER YOUR PRICE! Doesn't take a genius to see that's the issue, here.

Orrrrrr... leave it like it is and sell it sometime between now and next year. (or never)

Your reality doesn't include the future of Ebay. Hypothetical fairytale is your opinion of the future with them too. You assume Ebay wants to lower or keep their seller count the same and just squeeze them for fee's until what? I believe they want to do both, have more seller's selling and more fee's when possible. They can't compete with Amazon and the like so they have no choice to expand with multiple sellers doing the right thing for the most part. They must grow.

It doesn't replace promoted listings, it adds to it.

Can you imagine eBay says they’re for small businesses

More like raping our buts then throwing us to the way side

I'm more worried about the Biden family plan re: bank account transactions being reported, any news on that? (dont mean to derail accounts)

As of last week, it was omitted from their list of changes. But a higher dollar amount threshold is still a possibility.
