Default competitor using dissolved company to remove listing on vero?

Competitor doesnt own ipo trademark or design rights yet was able to pull down my listing with a dissolved company of 2019 and a yahoo email id?
How to prove to ebay? I emailed vero all the proof and they come back and say contact his yahoo email id.

Are ebay really this dumb in 2021?

I had something similar - here is what I did

I went to the design registration site and got the pictures from his design registration

I changed mine slightly and registered my own design - took 8 weeks all told and cost me £70

Then VeROed his listings

Naturally he screamed and shouted

You may need the threat of a solicitors letter to get his design registration number but I have to admit using VeRO to take down his listings and seeing mine up there gave me great personal satisfaction

Nothing you can do about it and to be honest I wouldn’t even waste my time changing the produce/making it look different in most cases VeRO department do not even check whether the product looks like yours all they require is a signed document + evidence of ownership of the rights and bam your listing is removed.

I’ve had this done to many of my products no doubt from competitors and you cannot not do nothing.

I suggest you use that energy to source another product don’t waste your time with VeRO.

His design right is a way off, the wording on it, the logo everything its not even 1% same yet he has been able to fool ebay. I enlarged those screenshot them sent proof to ebay and still they come back say hes right owner and contact him. Im baffled.
I wouldnt even know his listings as it is generic item even china offering it from china and mulitple sellers but i myself was one of the first to have it and held the sales history and now stuck with almost 1500 units.

so the moral of the story is if you think you have a good product then design right it or ipo it to rule the roost on ebay?
some of us not fortunate to just move on and chuck the stock.

100% correct be the 1st to design right new products in the UK and you’ll run the roost many sellers are doing this it’s pretty much standard practice now if you want to be above the rest.

You may well find the design right has expired - you need to spend a couple of hundred pounds on a legal letter to find the design number

Here's the rub in 2021. You can either ditch the product or try and take them on. That's your call.

But ask yourself this. What will you do if you if you lose your account over this? Do you have them means to create another, given the MP situation and would you be stupid enough to sell the same product on it? If the answer is 'no' then simply stop selling the offending product and respect the account you have.

Like I said, your call but don't end up in a position where you have to start again and knowingly put yourself back in the same position.

Always remember Einsteins definition of insanity.
