I was naive, got suspended- now what?
 

Hi all,

I'll try to keep it brief. I buy bulk lots of broken furniture from auctions. These are often expensive, branded items with something daft like a missing hinge. I repair and then sell for fraction of the retail price.

Seeing as I do this as a registered business I thought I should keep things separate and make a new account - this was mistake number 1.

Made my new account went through all the setup, I just wish I had found this forum before I did. I was pretty much suspended within 5 mins of my first listing. I had a phone call to verify my details and this is when i did a massive f**k up as the rep obviously didn't like the answer to some of my questions.

(after researching it's probably because I used the brand names of the furniture in my listing?) when asking for feedback on why I was suspended they stated they didn't agree with my selling or business model.

So when you get asked by ebay "where do you get your items - be specific with suppliers" wtf should I say? I'm particularly annoyed because there are hundreds of accounts all doing the same thing - even using photos directly off the companies website ( I at least took my own pics! )

The worst part is I can't even use my personal account anymore as they linked the 2 and I'm banned from selling on that one also, I had 500+ positive feedback so I'm a bit gutted.

I thought about possibly trying a stealth account but I have a feeling as soon as I list anything I'll get banned.

If anyone has any ideas as to how I can get my account back or make a new one without being banned please let me know! Or maybe if you think you know what I did wrong on my first attempt??

You need all fresh details and listing a high end brand is risky for first listing

Worst part is you got banned for trying to streamline your business. What you initially said is exactly what an accountant would want you to do, keep things seperate so there is transparency when they do your accounts / if HMRC enquire.

eBay has lost it's mind getting rid of good sellers.

If you carried on your established account I bet you would have never got banned and carried on selling indefinitely.

We are nothing but a number to ebay ... if we're deemed too risky we get an instant ban. Thank all the dodgy scammers that have made it this hard for honest sellers.

Nothing but a number on a screen. While you figure out stealth I would suggest you find as many other marketplace's to list on

If you don't have the skills/time to research and create your own account, try purchasing one from the marketplace here from a reputable seller.

Make sure to follow all advice and precautions with your new account.

Ebay does not like your business model?
So how would stealth account help if you sell same merchandise?
plenty of Ebay sellers selll used,refurbished merchandise,what did you do wrong?
