You can buy endless phones for less than £15. Check out Argos for a starter.

I wouldn't use three for burner phones, cheap £15 phones will not work with three as they're only 2G, and its not worth paying the extra few quid for 3G phones as the 3G network will be turned off by 2024.

If you really need three and a smart phone, the Alcatel 1 is just about usable for about 59 quid, will not be fast to boot though, lol.

He just needs it for phone verification, so no need for the 2G or 5G.

BTW, you guys in UK still have 2G??

He''ll need at least 2G to do phone verification :)

We will still have 2G for years, outlasting 3G, but most phones are 4G or 5G

There's only a handful of countries that have totally ditched 2G isn't there?

I believe some countries, like the UK, were relatively early adopters of gadgets like energy smart meters etc and it's been agreed to keep 2G until they're at the end of their normal lifespan because they're tied into it.

If a country has the capacity to keep it going I can't see the problem TBH.
