Billing Address don’t match - how to proceed refunds?
 

Hey all,

It’s been a while but I need some help as recently I started to face an issue that I didn’t have before.

I run multiple stealth accounts successfully and I also have few of them with bank accounts that match the name but not the address as I use different virtual addresses. I have bank accounts and debit cards added, however the debit cards are not used for fees or refunds but only the bank accounts. I recently had few returns on accounts with no activity in the last few weeks so no funds available in ebay. To make a refund ebay ask me to add a card, no PP option, so when I try the billing address won’t match.

I was thinking to add pre-paid virtual card to use for refunds in cases that I don’t have funds but I’m not sure if this is safe?

Other thought is to change the address on the bank account temporarily so I can add the card on ebay then change it back but would ebay ask me to verify the address every time I process a refund using the debit card one verified?

How you guys go around that issue? Any recommendations for virtual cards that work?

I use Wise virtual cards. AFAIK pre-paid cards will also work but not sure which ones folk are using.

One option you could use is to reduce the frequency of your disbursements to weekly or longer and that way you'll carry a balance from which refunds can be made and keep them from touching your bank and back up card.

Thanks, have you tested yourself? I’m wondering if ebay will like virtual cards just as a payment option as I have bank account attached for payouts. I don’t want to risk it but would be easier instead of changing my address on the bank accounts.

I usually keep funds but it one of those situations that I didn’t have enough thought… 😬

The method I use is set payouts to weekly frequency, this also gives you an on demand payout option, I have daily sales so I usually withdraw twice a week which allows enough remaining funds for refunds.

I always set to 'use bank account for seller fees' and therefore don't need to add a bank card.

Thanks, I think bank account for selling fees is fine but it won’t work if you have to make a refund and you don’t have enough funds. Overall this won’t happen often but it was just that situation with account that I didn’t use for some time and I had return request which makes me start thinking of the best options.

I have exactly the same problem as OP. Wise only gives me 1 virtual card so that doesn't seem suitable. Is there a way to get multiple virtual cards on Wise?
