ebay MC011 MC113 how to get held funds released
 

I've seen some reports about ebay holding funds illegitimately when they have their account restricted.


Ebay are signed up to the Financial Conduct Authority, therefore they can be reported to the finanicial ombudsman if they do not release funds. You need to get a final repsonse saying they won't release them, and wait a few weeks. I guess you could just freezeframe one of ebay's helpful chatbots to get that

I'm not sure if it'd work with a stealth account, but if you have real details, and can't be bothered to hand in docs, or they refused the docs,it maybe the correct avenue to pursue.

There is no fee, so cheaper than pursueing them through the courts

The only time in the UK that eBay do not release the money held is if the account is unverified or the product sold is proven to be counterfeit. In the first instance you do not have a leg to stand on as you can not take them to court and in the second they will take the money as compensation for damages incurred to their reputation caused by the sellers actions.

A verified account which was suspended for bad performance by the seller will get any monies held returned after 60 to 72 days.

Usually it only happens under certain certain circumstances that the funds will be held and not released and most the time that is when fraud or f4akes are being sold
