What's stopping a buyer
leaving negative feedback
for every purchase he makes
And sellers can't leave one negative?
Do eBay care about sellers
or just buyers?

Nothing stops them but you can report individual feedback for consideration if you think it is unfair and report a buyer if you believe they're abusing the system.

In any event, it's such an incredibly rare event that a buyer does it that it's simply not an issue and can't understand why you would care.

IMO removing negative feedback for sellers was one of the best things they did., they abused it more than buyers.

when you shop at a retail store,does it leave you negative feedback?

It's been like this forever...

Most buyers are good though... just that 1 bad apple is a raging ^%&*# piece of #(*&$ and sucks up all your energy.

ebay is a sales venue,you are the shop.
Ebay once did a survey,it wants to know what makes shoppers not wanting to buy on Ebay,many said they are afraid of being left negative feedback?

You used to be able to leave negative feedback for the buyers on eBay, the bad sellers used it to extort positive feedback getting buyers who left negative feedback to change the feedback or have negative feedback left against them. OK you get bad buyers who leave negative feedback when it is not warranted but it is in the minority and bad sellers get the negative feedback they deserve

eBay also charged vat not the seller for a purchase
eBay charge 17% if you use no reserve
All these put me off

EBay does not charge VAT on UK sellers, they may impose it on foreign sellers listings, everything I purchase on UK eBay through my UK account has no VAT added by eBay.

You may see on an auction held by a business that is VAT registered and the invoice has a VAT portion of the gross sale listed on it.

I presume it came from a
China seller and it was import tax collected by eBay
