Ebay UK Stealth Account - Selling Internationally ID Requested
 

Hi all

I have a UK ebay stealth account. Had it for months all is well. Recently started selling internationally and I got this

To sell internationally and comply with our cross-border trade policy, we'll need a government-issued ID.

Provide a government ID
Please provide a driving licence or passport. It must be current and not expired.

if you sell outside UK and EU ebay will always ask to upload ID so you need to upload

Thanks for your reply. It's too late now unfortunately. I guess my account will be toast if I don't upload ID and no way around it?

Thanks for your reply if I don't upload ID I assume it will suspend all my sales and payouts not just the international ones?

it is likely that only international sites will be affected , I have not tried this as I just uploaded and was reinstated a few minutes later but I am 90% certain that failure to upload will only block you from listing anything outside of europe as this was the trigger

Interesting. Ebay never makes sense. It's says my payouts are currently on hold (they aren't). It seems to imply all my payouts will be on hold (not just international) unless I upload ID.

They aren't actually asking for the ID document just an ID number. Someone told me you can put anything in for the ID number as they don't check it (at least not initially maybe once you hit a certain level they will want to check it)

I think the account was created with real details however I do not have ID to upload. Do you think creative ID may work bearing in mind the account has real details?

The other option I have is to change the account details to my real details and then upload my ID. Does this trick still work? If it fails will it prevent me from making a seperate ebay account in my own name?

It seems my options are as follows:-

1) Do nothing and see if only international payouts / sales are affected.

2) Put in any ID number as I was told they don't check it until a certain threshold is met.

3) Use creative ID (might work as ID details are real?)

4) Change account details to my own and use my own ID (not sure if this trick still works)

Let me know what you think is the best option

Regarding (3), why not just contact the person whose details you've used and ask them for their ID?

Yes I will try that of course not sure if they will get back to me in time though. Ebay have given me a deadline.

you can always your own details , when verification comes you upload your real ID

Do I change the account name and address to my name and address first or upload my ID even though that doesn't match the account name and address.

I wouldn't change registration info - that's a pretty big security flag

So I keep my account info the same but upload ID in my name which doesn't match the account details and it might work? Have I got that right?

so what is the purpose of asking for ID if everyone just upload passport or driver license of a different person?
say you sign up as Mary jane,when ask to upload Mary's ID,you just give them John Doe and you expect Ebay to buy that?

Exactly it doesn't make sense. Wouldn't be the first time ebay did something that made no sense.

sorry just need to add to this

If you use the UK Driving License, The Ebay AI makes sure that the address on the DL has to match what is on account, so it simply wont pass or gets bounced back

Dear Friend,

if you want to confirm your payout then you should submit photo id and Bank statement. then eBay will remove payout restrictions from your account. you can make customer documents from provider who make documents. should be match eBay owner name and photo id name.
