Ebay cracking down on "rogue" buyers.
 

Hi all

I got this surprising message below from ebay on a buying account I recently created. Are ebay cracking down on bad buyers for once?

Now before you get really mad at me for being a bad buyer I will explain. 1 item was returned as NAD because there was no retail box and this wasn't mentioned in the listing (I'm a reseller so a box is important and I think it should be mentioned if there isn't one)

A collection of iphones were returned because they were stolen / icloud locked (obivous violation of ebay terms even if sold as for parts)

I had to open an item not received request on a collection only item because the seller agreed to cancellation but insisted I do this as he thought it would avoid him being charged fees (weird situation)

I ordered a charger that I thought wasn't delivered but was actually at the delivery office (my fault I opened an item not received case here which was premature)

I ordered some USB sticks which I believed to be faulty so opened NAD case. In hindsight it may have been an issue with my computers USB port (so maybe my fault also)

I was surprised ebay sent me a warning seeing as I've had many other successful transactions on the account and most of the issues weren't my fault.

Below is the message I got do you think I'm close to being banned or it's just an empty warning?

It seems like you get a bit hot headed when something goes wrong with one of your orders, and file cases before even thinking things through.

In my opinion if you continue to open cases at the same rate you have been then the account will be banned.

Irrespective of whether you think you are in the right or not, you are opening a % of cases above the threshold that ebay deems "reasonable".

It's been like this for a while.
you have been opening cases against sellers so their bots noticed this.

I have to say, most sellers and buyers are actually good.
So if you think about it, that smaller % of problematic people is what will get flagged. And it's a good thing.

yes,your buying privilege will be removed as it is a hazard to the seller community.but you can still sell.

I wonder if a buying account can get suspended but allow the seller account to operate

At least they're sending out emails to discourage bad buyers

They do.


"Your account can be either completely suspended or just restricted. If the account is not suspended, but restricted for selling, you can still buy; if it is restricted for buying, you can still sell."

In any event, you'd have to be a prize plum to buy through your seller account and then piss other sellers off.

You can have your buying suspended,but can still sell.
Once a woman living in rural Mexico filed too many INR ,as she was buying low priced trinklets,sellers do not send with tracking,she filed too many cases and her buying privilege was suspended.

At least hah - professional buyers will always exist sadly
