Ad fee standard not refunded when order cancelled
 

Hi all

I tried to get sense from 2 ebay agents but no luck.

When I cancel orders for "item out of stock" I have to pay a 0.30 charge right? Ok cool no big deal.

However whatever reason I give for the refund the "Ad fee standard credit" isn't mentioned in the refund form it only mentions final value fee credit.

Is ebay keeping or refunding the ad fee standard credit? IF they are refunding it why don't they show it as a credit on the refund form? Thanks

They're keeping it and rightly so IMO. Can you imagine the manipulation some sellers would go to to jerk the system if they didn't.

You dont get the ad fee refunded.

I had this issue as well, and I spoke with an agent on chat, he had no idea. However from an order of £1200 I have received only £700. So I spoke with buyer to settle this by PayPal. When I refunded, it shows that I have to pay £1000, which ad fee standard won't be refunded. After speaking with agent, he said that will ask on his side for this fee.
After refunding, I have got ad fee £300 in my eBay account and has been sent to my bank account next day.
It is a very weird system.

Off topic. I have provided myself the link to the client so I won't pay promoted fees and I still got charged £300 for ad fee, but refunded and eBay ended up paying for international delivery and duty tax :D

You should check your eBay account statements to see if the ad fee is actually being credited back. If it's not, contact eBay again and specifically ask about the promoted listing fee refund when you cancel due to "item out of stock."
