Sometimes buyers will open cases saying item wasn't receive when tracking shows it was.
I understand that the seller will win this case but does the mere fact a case was open in the first place count as an invisible negative mark / have a detrimental effect on the seller account especially if it happens a number of times? |

| agent006140 | 02-13-2024 10:32 PM | If you print shipping labels on Ebay or post office, you can track it online.
if too many buyers complain and leave neg,it will make you look bad Quote:

They must have shipped really late after the item was refunded? As ebay lets you add a tracking number at any time. | That was early days of Ebay when tracking is not mandatory.
Some foreign buyers when they find tariffs or customs duty too expensive, would refuse to pick up the item at the post office,Ebay would deny their claims.
The economy has weakened,I am seeing it in my sales, more people are trying to resell my items, nickpick what they bought,or using stolen credit card. |
| murdered_by_ebay | 02-13-2024 11:18 PM | Re: Item not received when tracking shows it was there are buyers who allow several weeks and email each seller for tracking (without opening a case) , then they open a case against every seller who did not provide tracking by email or refund. this is a classic scheme |

The case won't affect your seller performance. Any Feedback left for this transaction will be removed.
We have received tracking information that shows the item was delivered to the buyer's address." |

I think ebay took the loss as the buyer was refunded but I also got to keep my funds.
I've had that happen a few times ebay takes the loss themselves. Same with seller protection claims.
The funny thing is sometimes ebay takes the loss when I wouldn't think it unfair to take the loss myself. |
| degsey69 | 02-14-2024 04:46 PM | Re: Item not received when tracking shows it was UK has an issue with some of their mail, if it’s a small item you are sending here and you use 24 or 48 hour delivery, the tracking will show sent but no more tracking until delivered, some of the deliveries do not always show as delivered. The postman treat it as regular mail and miss the delivery scan off. |

I was even told by an eBay agent, that even if tracking shows ''attempted delivery'' eBay see that as Delivered. Not sure how true that is, but it did come from an eBay rep |

Not sure how true that is, but it did come from an eBay rep | It's a rarity nowadays (I haven't had one for years) with online re-delivery available to the buyer but in the past I have had goods returned to me and ebay have issued a full refund where the buyer has not collected.
The dearest item I sell is around £60 so no signature required for seller protection so I exclusively use Royal Mail 'tracked no signature'. Works perfectly.
But getting back to OP's question, as we've both said, if delivery has been attempted then that is enough to protect your account from any form of defect, including negative feedback. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:27 PM. | |
