Default EBay Passkey

Hi,
I’ve had issues with eBay in the past, and I’m concearned about the new “passkeys” eg face recognition etc when opening /logging into eBay. Is there anything to be concerned about? Can someone put my mind at rest with this please? I’m concerned it’ll link my other devices. As you’ll probably get from this post, I’m not tech savvy at all, I’m just a humble small user trying to earn an honest living. And I’m not sure where else to turn for advise on things like this.
Thanks guys ☺️🙏

Default Re: EBay Passkey

passkeys can be used to be stored on phones or computer , I doubt though ebay will force people to do it because it is very dangerous , you store passkeys on your computer and you will not be able to log in from another computer

windows below 10 does not support it , on windows 10 you would not be able to export the keys to another computer so that there would be major problems to log in for many people

EXCERPT:

Passkeys
Passkeys are an alternative to passwords that allow you to sign into your eBay account using biometric authentication such as a fingerprint, pattern, or PIN.This means you don’t need to enter your password, and it will help protect your eBay account against unauthorized access.

You can set up passkeys from the prompt after you sign in or from the Sign in and Security settings in your eBay account. You can also disable the passkey option in your Sign in and Security settings.

If your passkey fails, you'll receive an error message and be prompted to log in using your username and password.
