Your listing isn’t following policy: Counterfeit item policy

Had several dozen of these on a couple of accounts on Sunday and yesterday. One is 8 years old with almost no problems in that time, nearly 5 years old on the other, again, run like clockwork.

My question is .... both accounts received their payouts this morning, so both could be considered active. I wanted to know how long any "cool-down" period would take?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Re: Your listing isn’t following policy: Counterfeit item policy

were you restricted after these emails for 3/5/7 days?

if you start getting restricted you will be nearing suspension

if no new violations occur they should reset within 6-12 months

Hi, thank you for your answer.

No restrictions were given. I contacted eBay on Monday morning through chat, and was given advice on how to resolve the issue. I took that advice, applied it, but then all my new listing's were taken down for the exact same reason as the original listings.

I received my regular weekly payout this morning as well.

I'm unsure as to whether they last for 6 or 12 months now. It used to be 6. I think if they still show up in the resolution hub they still count. Not 100% sure on that though.

it is more complicated than this because the ones that do not lead to restriction do not count. that is why I asked about restriction , if he had many removals but still no restriction it does not count but the items in question should be removed for now

Definitely no restrictions on either account.

How long would you recommend they cool down for?

Thank you so much for your input.

I thought you just got the educational you may not of been aware warning first, then the actual warning, then 3 day, 7 day, 10 day restrictions then suspension?

Check the listing removed email, after second or third offence you will start getting 3, 7 day temp suspensions. Then ban. Also, most likely you were reported, it will say at the bottom this was brought to our attention because of a user report

on old accounts this does not always happen this way and I know this for sure

they may remove very many items but not impose any restrictions , especially this happens in the time around christmas. these removals would not count for possible suspension and they may run for months

but nevertheless I would remove the items as it is not guaranteed that ebay will allow this to run indefinitely

2-3 months , the issue is that once these removals start they continue being done by bots , you need to remove the items so that the bots forget about you

Re: Your listing isn’t following policy: Counterfeit item policy

Bots do not forget,it has a list of offenders ,it will remove the account if it has been closed years ago.

Re: Your listing isn’t following policy: Counterfeit item policy

on fresh violations bots continue removing items , for example if all items are removed by the seller for a while , like for a few months the bots will not continue removals by default

VERO I don't know , I am only talking about item removals by the system , not by a VERO owner

Thanks

Re: Your listing isn’t following policy: Counterfeit item policy

ideally take down all items for 2-3 months

Freakzilla 01-09-2025 06:13 AM

Re: Your listing isn’t following policy: Counterfeit item policy

If there have been no restrictions why take them down?

murdered_by_ebay 01-09-2025 07:49 AM

Re: Your listing isn’t following policy: Counterfeit item policy

that is because it is not clear what happens if this continues this way

1. ARE they counterfeits?

2. I'd say 3 months minimum cool down and you need to make new listings
