eBay Suspended & PayPal Limited Forums - Creating a UK Seller Account in July 2025

So was wondering what the steps to sell are nowadays?

Do you need a Bank/ID straight away?

If so what Banks are accepted?

I've seen the £1700 NI thing so am aware of that.

The same as in June

No you don't always need bank or ID straight away, depends if business or personal

Personal bank isnt needed

Business bank is needed

Both will ask for NI later on but soon enough I expect they will start to ask for it right away

Is the business bank needed because you can "name" the account whatever you want?

Depends on the bank but usually personal bank accounts are OK

You've kind of contradicted yourself.

You first say personal banks aren't needed, but then say they're OK.

Can you elaborate please.

Personal eBay accounts you have 30 days from the first sale to add the bank account.

Business eBay accounts you need to add a bank account right away, when you open it, or when you upgrade from personal.

I meant a personal bank on a business account is fine directly answering the question in the post above :)

Either way name wont matter

I just read about the Spendable option - "Sellers need to be invited by eBay to enroll in spendable funds or eBay balance" - here's hoping...

I havent tried it myself so I am not sure but I dont think you do... but you can also only sell so much on an account before you have to add a bank account anyway

Yep it was rolled out a while ago - not yet for all accounts as far as I know and not sure if it applies to all countries

yeah I think maybe you have 30 days to add a bank, can't remember. Someone else can probably chime in

you cant use the balance without a confirmed bank account on bigger valued items, you can use it on smaller ones after confirmation of bank account, try using it with an unconfirmed acc and itll say "try another payment method"
