EBay asking for Reciepts of my recent listings. Payouts on hold
 

Hi guys. Have an issue eBay is asking for receipts which I don’t really have. Most of my stuff is brought on Facebook market place, deals done with fellow people in the trade etc.

They have also asked this which is weird.

“Contact us from the email address(es) associated with your previous eBay account(s) to resolve any open issues with those account(s):”

I had an account which they disallowed from selling previous but it was in my own name and this account is aswell. I had both anoints at the same time.

They've linked your banned account to your active account.


One way to get receipts they will accept is to buy whatever item from the official company that sells it then return once you get it.

My listings are mainly car engines and some car parts. Most of the stuff I buy from eBay market place from people who are breaking the cars for parts. Never really bothered with recipes although I do have bank transfers showing payment s to various people. Would anyone be able to help with making the receipts?

They also asked this

Upload a copy of a recent credit card statement, bank statement, or utility bill. Your name, billing address, and eBay username should be visible and consistent with your eBay account registration information. Make sure your documents are current, valid, and legible.

Does this mean I have to show my bank statement? Including the transactions???

No. That part of their request is just them trying to lock down your personal info.

I had loads of returns during the mail strike and inr, couldn’t provide reciepts and was high risk items iPhones mainly.

If you try to redact parts of the statement, they will reject it.


Something about your selling activity on the new account raised a red flag.

Yes. They don't care about what you're spending money on.

They will check the date on the receipt/
since you did pay ,why not show the payment receipt

That can easily be changed. They stated in the first post that the items were purchased through unofficial channels (FB marketplace).

He was selling iphones,this could be the problem as plenty of ebay sellers find their items in UNOFFICAL CHANNELS such as grandma attic,dumpsters,streets.

No doubt the iPhone related sales are what led to the closure of their first account.


I'm just trying to help the dude get around this restriction they've put on his auto part account.

A bit of work involved but it can be fixed. You'll just have to put in the effort to save the account. It's all do-able. Give the exactly what they want. They just want to tick the boxes.

Depends on how much trouble they got into with the first account.


The "Contact us from the email address(es) associated with your previous eBay account(s)" line is eBay's way of saying there's now a hard link between the two accounts.

How do I give receipts for stuff I brought on marketplace or through cash in hand transactions with mates in the trade?

You can try explaining to eBay that's how you got the items but with your past history, it's not going to be good enough for them.

These are 5000 / 10000 pound items I’m selling. I can’t just go on a spending spree like that.

Yikes. The problem with trying to find someone who can make invoices for you is nobody has a template they can edit for such specific (and expensive) items.


The high cost of the items is most likely what led them to shut your account down.

Are the car parts you are selling from expensive cars,do they look like in very good shape,do you know where the sellers get the parts from?

I know in US,car thieves will steal cars and chop them up,or ship them to Mexico?
Local police,US customs,FBI can all come to Ebay .

It’s mainly just engines but yea they are pretty clean parts. I’m going to submit some reciepts for the damaged cars which I’ve purchased and hope they will sufficient.

I just remembered one of the guys who lives on my apartment who shares the same WiFi as me was telling me how he got banned from eBay for selling counterfeit clothes or something. I’m now wondering if the IP has flagged up on eBay’s system and maybe they are doing this because of that? If so should I bring this up with them?

Reading that makes me shudder...I would NOT share same wifi with anyone if I'm doing strong business...get out of that business model immediately.

Go for your mobile IP or something that no one shares with you.

While sharing IP with compromised accounts has long known to be a contributory factor, I don't think bringing this up with eb will do much to help your case...keeping in mind how eb just tosses sellers if they are risky...in my opinion anyhow.

It's not the other guy on your Wifi. They've already made clear to you where the link is (your old account)

True - not the only factor...though I wonder if that other guy is using same address...maybe listing at exact same time, etc - those can all add into the issue basket
