payments always on Hold? Reasons?
 
This is my first PayPal account that I have come by that keeps on getting eBay payments on hold. And I've made about 7 accounts last year which has never had this problem. With my other accounts that I had my seller feedback rating was over 20 and it was fine. But now I've over 20 feedbacks from sellers and I'm still getting payments on hold. Mind you thou the stuff I’m selling for 99p never come on hold. It's only the stuff over £20 that seems to be getting on hold. It's driving me mad!!!!!! Can anybody help me? I need this money on hold to buy the stuff for the customer. :help::ballchain:

It's just the way it goes.....

I have accounts that I can do no wrong with. No holds from day one, can receive large amounts of funds without issue and make large withdrawals without limitation.

Other accounts it is the opposite - every payment is put on hold, withdrawals take 72 hours to complete, auctions take ages to show up once listed.

Not much you can do but keep on selling and building feedback. PP will ease up eventually.

Have you reached 20 on alls areas of the DSRs?

I have like 25 positive feedback from customers. But non from sellers.

Have they all given you a star rating? And what are your ratings like?

Its not the feed back score...its the DSR score to be concerned about for your situation.

PayPal will not hold payments for eBay items if you meet the following criteria:

* You have been an eBay member for more than 6 months, and
* Your total Feedback score is greater than 100, and
* Fewer than 5% of your transactions result in dissatisfied buyers*

OR

* Your average DSR is greater than 4.5, and
* Your have received more than 20 DSRs in the last 12 months

Yes I have a Yellow Star. 100% feedback. Everything is positive.

Well my DSR is over 20 so it should not be a problem now. But the payments are still coming in on hold.

Also I stated this to paypal about the over 20 DSR Rating and this is what they said:

I have checked the account and I believe you are pertaining to the
transaction that is placed on hold amounting to £20.99 GBP. Please be
advised that before a hold is placed we review many factors including
transaction activity, business type, past customer disputes and overall
customer satisfaction. Here are some common reasons for holding payments:

• You have been an eBay and PayPal member for less than 6 months, and, have
limited selling activity.
• You have an eBay feedback score of less than 100 and do not have a record
of good performance
• You have a Buyer dissatisfaction percentage of 5% or greater than 5%
• You have an average Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) of less than 4.5
• You have received fewer than 20 Detailed Seller Ratings in the last 12
months
• You have a high rate of customer disputes
• You’re selling in a high risk category or industry such as, but not
limited to, tickets, travel, gift certificates, computers, consumer
electronics, or cell phones
• You have a spike in selling activities or begin selling in a category
without an established history

It shows here that you have just signed up for a PayPal account last 14th
of December 2009. That is the reason as to why your payments are being
placed on hold.

Your funds will be released when one of the following occurs:

• The buyer leaves you positive feedback
• 21 days pass without a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal filed on
the transaction

On your feedback page you have a breakdown of the areas that make up the Detailed Seller Rating with a star rating and overall score for each area:

Item as described 20 (4.9)
Communication 20 (5)
Dispatch time 20 (5)
Postage and packaging charges 20 (4.8).

This is what we are referring to, not your actual feedback score.

This is mine Detailed Seller Rating is this what there talking about? Also why is this different from the 26 star rating I have?

Well you just now hit the 20 DSR score...you should be OK from now on.

Really, your problems are just a minor inconvenience, at least your account is in good standing. Thats what really matters most. Right?

Not all buyers bother to complete the ratings. The just leave a positive comment. So you have only just reached the 20 threshold.

If you hover your mouse pointer over the stars you can see your actual rating, or you can get it from the seller dashboard.

If you are getting low ratings this could cause holds to continue as it shows a high level of buyer dissatisfaction.

I've clicked on the Seller Dashboard on eBay and it comes up with:

“You are not eligible to access this feature”.

Wow I didn’t realise that you could rate the seller on:
Item as described
Communication
Dispatch time
Postage and packaging charges

When leaving feedback ....how long has this been in place?

It has been in place for quite some time....

If you can't access the dashboard that means you haven't had your first invoice yet!
