Using my UK ebay account in Europe
 

Hello guys,

I am soon to relocate to another part of Europe [Romania] for a few months and i wonder how this will affect my ebay business?


Will i be able to sell on my UK accounts bearing in mind the IP address will be Romanian?

I dont think there is a romanian ebay and ebay hate romania coz of all the hackers [MR. Vlad and Co.] and fraudsters selling things they dont possess e.g. a MIG Fighter Jet, BMW's, Mercedes cars and the local Town Hall...hilarious i know!


But on a serious note..i live off my ebay income and so i dont know if i will have access to it whilst in Romania :(

You should be fine, i dont even live in the UK and i log in to my UK ebay accounts on IPs all over the world, anyway you can always use a VPN if u want to be extra safe.

I suspect that as soon as you log into your UK accounts from a Romanian IP you will be zapped quicker than you can say "Fire Phasers".

As trotter said a good VPN is one option. You could also try contacting CS and letting them know you are travelling. The main thing is to have all the necessary documents with you ready to prove who you are.

I would tell ebay you will be in R, and then you can go for a local ip.......vpn isnt good from what i read....

Yes I would contact them either by phone or on the online help and just tell them that you are moving to R - They will make a note of this on your account so when you carry on using your account in R there will be no problems.

Sometimes it is good to talk to them and in this case I believe it would be worth it.

okay ill try that. might look a bit suspicious is multiple "people" are moving to R lol

oh, its multi accounts? see your point....maybe just sell on a couple while you are away, and inform them..

Why don't you test it out on 1 account when your over there and see what happens.

You can ring them up for EVERY account and say you are going to Romania, as long as they are all stealth and independent from one another there is no way they would know.

But leave a couple of days between ringing them for each account, you could get the same person, but even then thats real slim.

They will never ever connect you to other ebay accounts from this alone.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to buy a house and a large orchard in Romania. I was really keen but in the end decided against it. Its one of those things that I always think what if?

And by the way the price was a snip at only £6000, and it was totally isolated from society and that is my goal, to live like a mad hermit with my own mind for company.
