Is it safe to buy VERO items from China?

Hi all,

I am wondering whether anybody has had any trouble with the law as a result of importing small orders of VERO items from China.

I am looking to purchase 20 - 30 brand named wallets every month on Ioffer.com to sell on eBay. I would be ordering in batches of 10 and would probably be getting 3 packages delivered to my home address at different times over the month.

Would these pass through customs quite easily if marked as low value and possibly 'gift'? What would happen if customs inspected the parcels and realised that they were copies? Would they come after me or the seller and if so what would be the outcome?

I am looking for advice from someone who has experience of this sort of thing.

Thanks

Delboy

Don't worry about it "What would happen if customs inspected the parcels and realised that they were copies" whey don't check replica or no...

^^ dont understand bons answer..

firstly, do you know that you CAN sell these items in large quantities, dont be stuck with stock that keeps getting taken down...

secondly, nothing will happen if that kind of order was opened at customs, other than a letter and seizure..at that point, you need to change address it is sent to...

you shouldnt have a problem, if its a gift should sale through customs ive had 50 items through loads of times as a gift sometimes getting 3 parcels in a week

I thought gift was a red flag?
Do you think marking gift is better than marking goods/ merchandise?
i am having a lot of seizures, almost everything i ordered this month going to two different address has been in customs for 22-4 days. All of the boxes were marked gift, i figured this was the problem.
When do you think i should write it off as confiscated?

Most likely your supplier is doing something wrong with the shipping paperwork that is catching the eye of customs. A good supplier knows the tricks and know how to get your packages through customs safely.

Delboy, your item getting through customs depends solely on the supplier and how he/she fills out the shipping forms. Do your research and try to find an experienced supplier that knows what he/she is doing.
