Paypal Limited - Photo ID
 

So I have just opened a new Paypal account and before even selling anything it has been limited.

They are requesting:

Bank/utility document - no problem
Photo ID - ??

Do you have to supply photo ID? I mean, suppose you didn't have a passport and can't drive? Is there any other way I can do this?

not come across anyone that doesnt have a passport nowadays , maybe no DL is plausible,

well I expect they will do another type of check on you, you will have to ask them to find out..US have a long list of ID types they accept, but Uk doesnt, as they arent classed as official, but they might ask for college ID or something, dont know, never come across it.

what prob with ID? is it a stealth acc, or is it you dont like giving ID?

It's a stealth account. Everything so far is ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

All set up from a seperate computer with seperate internet connection.

Paypal got limited and now they want me to verify my identity. Any ideas?

yes, you need matching ID - so be creative

Which form of ID is best to use? DL?

Where can I get it done? It's not an easy item to work with. The other documents are fine of course.

Dont get complicated, just create another and forget the one that got limited. After all , you say that you never list anything

Probably has his bank account tied to it and doesnt want to open a new account?

I haven't tied my bank account to it yet, so that is ok.

However, I did have an item listed on eBay and as luck would have it, it sold about an hour ago.

If I open another Paypal account with the same address, surely that will be linked/limited too?

You can't open another PayPal account using the same email address. Remember if anything is the same from a limited account on a new account then it will get linked and ultimately limited. So if you create another account it will need new phone #, email addresss and mailing addresss.

you can recycle banned addresses, a few years later, although it is best to add a little tweak eg different name (who is to say someone else didnt move in there).....

if you want to start up again straight away, a new address is needed..and make sure there is no link

when making a new paypal account can you just use any random address (which obviously is a real address) as your address?

Does it specifically ask for DL> If not, find a student id/employee id template on the net and shop in the name and address. It might not work, but the account is dead anyway.

imhim - dont use other peoples addresses, there are too many reasons not to do this

Don't use a random address. Make sure it exists. Might be a good idea to use an addrss from a house that is for sale and currently un-occupied. Just one thought. Think more broadly.

good idea vic, Ive looked up offices for rent before online, high turn-over of occupants, might be good thing, only thing i worry about with a real address belonging to someone else is that they may be using it for ebay already...I would not use a real home address that does not belong to you, for same reason plus it isnt really honest, I would go mad if someone was registered at my address (maybe they are! it isnt me thats for sure)

The vacant house for sale is fairly good. Nobody currently there, and if an issue of prior ebayer arises, show a photo of the for-sale sign taken 'the week before you moved in' and produce the documents needed to show as a brand new occupant.

Using a currently occupied location just isn't nice. Choosing a random location could end up with Google Satellite view showing a bordello or the local jail. Now wouldn't that be oh so nice to explain?!?

Ive got a few addresses that dont exist, they are a tweak on a real address, but a letter still gets there - I always test that, our postal service is pretty good like that. No flags raised on those as far as I know.

thing is - with UK location verification being so hit and miss, unless its the landline to exact address...accessible address is the best way to go unfortunately

no i dont mean a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address. I mean an addres which exists, but you dont live there... for example the road around the corner from your house etc...

then the bank account situation. how will I get an address to match my bank account, without me moving into that address to collect the bank information etc etc...
