Man, 10 days is nothing. I'd have a panic attack when it's 21 days or more.
Truly, wait a bit longer and see what develops.

Truly, wait a bit longer and see what develops. | Thanks for the info but normally the moment it's in the outward office of exchange it's out for delivery the next day. BBC News reported a customs clampdown on goods coming in for the world cup and they've been seizing goods in Coventry airport all week.

The 8th June was anti-counterfeiting day, that was the day my parcel went into customs. What are the chances of that.

Got a letter today from a company telling me that my parcel has been seized by customs, they want me to sign an agreement and allow for the items to be destroyed. Shall I just ignore it and let them go ahead with the products being destroyed..

From what I have read on these forums, ignore it.

They have your real name and address on file? I mean - you get that letter sent to you at home or such?

I do not think so,as we also have packages go pass custom at that day .I think the custom just check 1 or 2 packages everytime. It is usual .

Call parcel force and ask them what has happened to your parcel, remember as far as you are concerned you are an innocent party, only guilty people act suspiciously.

dont call, they will just give a generic reply, same as is on tracking.......plus if it is a seizure situation (which is usually harmelss) you are on record as phoning and knowing about parcel...

I think you can call them to know the suitation of your package,if they ask you some more info about yourself, and then you just thinking give the info or not.

while we're on the subject of customs, can anyone explain how customs work out how much tax/duty is to be paid on a package??
and how these chinese sellers manage prevent us from paying tax? its not simply by stating the package is a gift is it? as ive recieved packages where clearley on the form, there is nothing marked as gidt, yet i still dont have to coff up, which im happy about but just curious.

This is stated on their website. There are certain exceptions, of course, but that is the rule of thumb.
My guess is the UK has a similar rule. I'm sure the government did studies to find out at what point it pays to levy the taxes. If customs had to inspect every parcel with a declared value of under $250, it would probably cost them more to collect the tax than the money it would bring in.

All categories of items imported are subject to duty according to HM Customs.
It is the responsibility of an importer (you) to be aware of the possibility of needing to pay duty. You find out by speaking to the exporters what the requirements are and go from there.
Introduce yourself to the Customs web site to find out future answers. HM Revenue & Customs: Customs Duty, Excise Duty and Import VAT: introduction

If you get sent a package and there is no customs invoice they usually work it out ny the weight and charge accordingly, can be a good thing or a bad thing depending Quote:
