Paypal Payment Holds / Pending Funds?!?!

Hiya

Well I have just had my first few auctions on my new eBay / Paypal Stealth account end and people have paid me via Paypal, no problem there, also I managed to withdraw the money successfully into my new bank account from Paypal, so all is going great. However today upon receiving more payments into Paypal I have noticed that I have had this Payment hold thing put on a lot of my new payments, infact the majority of my money is 'Pending' until either 21 days has elapsed or the buyer has left positive feedback! WTF?!

The problem is several of the items are bike frames / parts where the postage is quite high and I cant pay for the postage out of my own pocket until the buyers leave me positive feedback! What can I do? I was thinking of asking the buyers if they will pay either the full amount, or just the postage cost by bank transfer and I refund them the Paypal money - any suggestions? I dont understand why some of the payments are available and some have had this payment hold put on them, whats the score here?

Thanks!

Johnny

do a search on 21 day hold on forum, it is a common problem, you are a new account and they may be highish payments,

good feedback and time will lessen these down considerably. asking you buyers to pay in another manner and refunding them is a way round it, but remember your buyers may not want to do this due to paypal buyer protection it affords them. As you are starting your business you may want to put up with the holds for the time-being.

Oompa, do you find that doing a transfer from your bank account to paypal - as in a self-deposit - seems to aid with the process of withdrawing? Even a few bux or so...

I never load my paypal from my bank, as the credit may show my real name, although that is actually fixable with some banks as you can get the header changed. I doubt it helps with withdrawals though.

Thanks - good point - might show real name - I should have recalled that...terrible idea.
